About AmigoPDF

AmigoPDF is a free set of PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. There is no sign-up, no software to install, and — crucially — no upload. Your documents are opened, edited and saved right on your own device.

Why it exists

Most “free online PDF editors” work by sending your file to a company’s servers, processing it there, and sending it back. For a contract, a tax form, a medical document or a signed agreement, that means handing a stranger a copy of something private.

AmigoPDF was built on a different principle: the browser is now powerful enough to do this work itself. Everything — rendering pages, adding text and signatures, merging, splitting — happens locally using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The file never travels across the network, so there is nothing to leak, cache, or subpoena.

What you can do

• Edit & sign — add text, highlights, shapes and arrows, insert images, and place a hand-drawn signature on any page.
• Organise pages — reorder, delete, rotate through, and extract pages.
• Merge — combine several PDFs into one, in any order.
• Split — pull selected pages into a new file, or burst every page into its own.

How your privacy actually works

“Runs in your browser” is easy to say, so here is what it actually means. When you open a PDF, the file is read straight from your disk into the browser’s memory — the same way a photo is read when you attach it to an email. From there the pages are drawn on screen, and any edits you make are written into a new copy, all by code running inside the tab. At no point is the file sent over the internet, and there is no “save to our server” step, because there is no server in the loop at all.

There is a simple way to prove this to yourself: open a PDF, switch your device to airplane mode, and keep working. Everything still functions, because nothing ever needed the network. When you close the tab, the file and anything you typed are gone from memory — we never held a copy to keep, log, or lose in a breach.

Who it’s for

The tools are aimed at the everyday paperwork almost everyone runs into: a tenant signing a lease, a freelancer initialing a contract, a parent filling in a school form, a small-business owner merging a stack of scanned receipts before tax season, or someone who just needs page 3 of a forty-page report. None of that should require an account, a desktop install, or trusting a stranger’s servers with a private document — and here it doesn’t.

An honest note on ads

To keep the Service free, this site shows advertising (Google AdSense), which uses cookies. Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and UK), a Google-certified consent prompt asks your choice, and you can change it any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer. That’s a separate thing from your documents: your PDF files are never uploaded or read by us or advertisers — the ads live on the page, not inside your files. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
