Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
This policy explains what information AmigoPDF (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) does and does not collect, and the choices you have. The short version: the PDF files you open are processed entirely on your own device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The parts below cover the details, including the cookies used to show advertising.
All PDF viewing, editing, merging and splitting happens inside your browser. Your documents are never transmitted to a server, never stored by us, and never seen by us. Closing the tab erases them from memory.
1. Who we are
AmigoPDF is a free, browser-based set of PDF tools operated by Rod Sand and available at amigopdf.com. You can reach us at contact@amigopdf.com.
2. Your PDF files and content
When you open a PDF (or an image, or draw a signature), that file is read directly by your browser using standard on-device web technologies. It is held only in your device’s memory for as long as the tab is open. We do not:
- upload, receive, transmit, copy or store your files;
- read, scan, analyse, index or fingerprint their contents;
- send any part of your document over the network.
Any passwords you enter to open an encrypted PDF are used only on your device to unlock that file and are never sent anywhere or retained after the tab closes.
3. Information stored on your device
To make the site nicer to use, we store a few small preferences in your browser’s localStorage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:
- Theme — whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Tool preferences — e.g. your last-used tool and colour.
- Cookie choice — whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies.
You can clear this at any time through your browser’s “clear site data” controls.
4. Cookies and advertising
We use a small amount of advertising to keep the Service free. Advertising is provided by Google AdSense, a third-party service.
- Google and its partners may set and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device to show and measure ads.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and/or other sites.
How your consent is handled
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies — including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — this site uses Google’s certified Consent Management Platform (Google’s consent message, which is certified under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework). When required, you will see Google’s consent prompt and can choose whether to allow personalised ads. Until you consent, personalised-ad cookies are not set, and you may instead be shown non-personalised or limited ads. You can review or change your choice at any time using the “Privacy settings” link in the footer.
You can also learn about and control Google’s ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings, review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
5. Analytics
We do not run product analytics or behavioural tracking scripts on the tools themselves. We do not profile you or your documents. Any measurement is limited to standard ad delivery by Google if you have accepted advertising cookies.
6. Third-party services
The core application libraries (for rendering and building PDFs) are served from this site itself, not from a third-party network. The one third party that may receive data — and only after your consent — is Google, for advertising. Its handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, there is generally no personal data held by us to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding data processed by Google as an advertising provider — please refer to Google’s policies linked above, and use the ad-settings and opt-out links in section 4. You may also contact us at contact@amigopdf.com with any privacy question.
8. Children
The Service is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
Because your documents never leave your device, the most sensitive data simply never travels. We recommend serving the site over HTTPS and keeping your browser up to date.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be highlighted on the site.
